Wolomi Doula
Wolomi is a maternal health advocacy organization based in Washington, D.C. We are a woman-led team of strategists passionate about empowering women of color on their pregnancy journey. We are a diverse and inclusive team of dreamers with a passion for improving women of color maternal health outcomes.

The Doula will provide emotional, physical, and informational support to expectant mothers through their pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum period. You will help mothers prepare for labor and delivery, offer comfort measures during labor, and provide guidance on breastfeeding and newborn care. Overall, you will play an essential role in helping mothers have a positive and empowering birth experience.

What You'll Do:

As a Wolomi Doula, you'll be a source of emotional strength and encouragement for our mothers throughout their pregnancy. You'll listen to their concerns, address their anxieties, and celebrate their milestones.

Empower through knowledge: You'll be an educator, providing mothers with evidence-based information about pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care. You'll help them understand their options and make informed decisions about their birth journey.

Advocate for their needs: You'll be a champion for our mothers within the healthcare system, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are respected.

Connect them to resources: You'll leverage the Wolomi platform to connect mothers with valuable resources in their communities.

Provide both in person and virtual support

What We're Looking For:

Doulas in the DMV, Georgia & Florida areas.

CPR Certification
-
Passion for maternal health: You are a dedicated individual with an unwavering commitment to improving birth experiences for women of color.

Empathetic and supportive: You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering genuine connections with mothers and building trust.

Doula certification: You are a certified Doula with a strong understanding of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care.

Cultural competency: Experience working with women of color and a strong understanding of their unique needs and perspectives are preferred.
